Seriously, half the posts on this forum are people explaining how to "jailbreak" a model or structure their prompt with XML tags to get a "better" result from ChatGPT or Claude. It's exhausting. The whole "prompt engineering" industry is basically snake oil sold to people who are scared of coding.
If you can't get the result you want because the model is hallucinating or missing the point, you've written a bad prompt. Period. Stop acting like you need to be a wizard casting spells with words. Just write clear, logical instructions like you would for a junior developer who hasn't read the documentation yet. If your "advanced" prompt is longer than three paragraphs, you're failing. I've been testing this for weeks and the "simple and direct" approach yields 95% of the value with zero of the mental overhead. We are overthinking this, aren't we?
